Scripture Lesson: Eph. 6:13
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
When it comes to hip-hop majorette competitions, the Dancing Dolls and their coach Diana “bring it” in the Lifetime reality series of the same name. Every week, teams dance “battle” it out to see which group will be left “standing” amongst the top teams in the country, and win the grand prize. During each competition, there is just that: a stand battle, where one team faces its competitor and does its best and fiercest dance right in front of their faces, hoping to intimate the competition, make them blink, and throw the competitor off their game. However, good teams are experienced in knowing “scare” tactics, and know that if they have done their best, all they have to do is continue to show up for the fight—and just STAND. As servants of the Most High God, we know that pretty much every day, the enemy may try to show up in our lives, “dance” in our faces, and attempt to create chaos to throw us off of God’s intended plan for us. However, if we become aware of Satan’s tactics, we can learn the importance of not turning away, but of continuing to show up for the battle, and, after we have done everything that we can do, to STAND (Ephesians 6:13—besides, we’ve already won anyway). We may not win trophies and applause like the DDs of Jackson, MS, but believe you, me, as children of God, we will always have the victory, and are more than fit to “Bring It”!
