EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
Good Afternoon, Everyone!
As I have said before, I guess I’m a “daddy’s girl”—I watch sports with my dad at home; he is disabled and I am a caretaker, so a LOT of ESPN goes back and forth on the screen! 🙂 I also was a cheerleader in middle school and high school; even though I never played sports, I always loved watching from the sidelines and cheering a favorite team on to a win.
Well, here’s the latest: NCAA “March Madness”, or the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament/Final Four, is on, and for the first time in NCAA Tournament history, 10 teams (count them, TEN) who were considered to be almost complete shut-outs—teams who were low-seeded in the tournament and not really expected to win—actually WON—and have advanced to play in Round Two! It happens in most tournaments—there are usually one, two, or maybe even THREE “Cinderella” teams in the bunch—but TEN?
[Needless to say, neither my dad’s “bracket”, nor mine, survived this year’s unexpected beating! :)]
As I watched all of the events of the past couple of days, as well as the subsequent and shocking (TEN teams?!?) outcome—Dad and I have kind of watched the Final Four for the past few years, and have NEVER seen THIS many “upsets”—I wondered, is God trying to SAY something? What message—if any—are You trying to get across?
EXPECT the UNEXPECTED—it is our time!
I am personally feeling as if the Lord is saying that those whom we would not expect to be even “on the scene” will be coming to the forefront and will be at center stage; I am feeling that He is saying that there will be abundance in our lives where there was once lack, and that there be much-needed rain where there was not a cloud in the sky. And guess what? NONE of it will make sense, possibly not to ourselves, and DEFINITELY not to those persons who do not know Christ, or how God is able to work in our lives. God is ABLE—expect the unexpected! It’s our time!
1 Corinthians 1:27a says “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty” (NKJV). Not that I claim to know anything (please pray and ask God before taking any posts to heart—my thoughts could be wrong; you persons pray just like I do)…but this point in time just seems as if it is the season for MIRACLES!
—and not just for basketball…even though that is kind of fun, too! 🙂
March Madness, anyone? 🙂
